My husband and I live in the Western Suburbs of Chicago with our 2 sons and 3 dogs.
Growing up I lived in the city, but spent my weekends and summers at our family cabin in central Wisconsin.
One of my favorite memories is the time I spent at a relative's goat ranch in Trinidad, Colorado.
My appreciation for nature began in my youth and continues to influence my art today.
While attending a college prep high school, my focus of study was visual art and music (piano and cello).
I received a BSN from Loyola University of Chicago.
I initially studied watercolor under the direction of Dr. Phyllis Kozlowski for several years. I have taken classes at the School of the Art Institute in Chicago and workshops with several national/internationally known artists. In 2011, wanting to create a deeper depth of color and freedom in my paintings, I began working in oils using a palette knife and mixed media techniques with oil and cold wax.
I paint almost daily in my home studio or plein air in local nature preserves. I am an active community volunteer in local art organizations and have served on several local art boards. My paintings have won numerous awards, appeared in national magazines, and are part of private and corporate collections.
I am an adult oil and cold wax painting instructor in the Chicago/Midwest area.
Commission work on request.
